I founded Root & Regard with the purpose of partnering with leaders and organizations to create environments where human-centered leadership is the norm, where employees are valued and seen, and where the culture health is strong.
Being accessible to your team—go out of your way to establish one-on-one time.
Being inclusive in your decision making—you don’t have all the answers.
Investing time in your employee’s success and growth.
Getting to know your employees—their work, family, superpowers, and goals.
Demonstrating servant leadership—know how you can best serve your team members as an individual, within a team, and within the organization.
Being humble—ask your team members what their expectations are of you as a leader.
How would you describe your workplace culture?
Growing up as an Army brat, I had to be open to change every few years as I was launched into new environments—people, schools, homes, geographic locations. These experiences shaped my regard for others, versatility, and ability to navigate unknown environments.
My career has been dedicated to operating in one of the most difficult and consequential business environments—the U.S. Intelligence Community—where I led and managed diverse portfolio of contracts and talent supporting every major national intelligence agency.
I have held executive roles in large, mid-tier, small, and technology start-up companies with changing ownership structures along the way. Being open to change enabled me to navigate and guide teams through numerous culture and operational shifts, including merger and acquisition activities.
From my early team leadership to subsequent executive leadership roles, I have been a servant leader and championed others’ growth while also exceeding demanding corporate goals. The golden thread throughout my career has been to coalesce both head and heart skills to achieve financial results, unparalleled employee experience, and exceptional customer delivery.
